Most users report very few iPhone 3G problems but the ones they do report are pretty irritating. People tend to use the devices for so many functions, it is surprising how dramatic they get even with the slightest iPhone problems.  They will go on blogging, Twitter or Facebook rant for days. On the other hand, since the most common iPhone issue seems to be signal strength, a certain amount of complaining is understandable.

Most owners can cite very few iPhone 3G problems with the noticeable exception of call quality and dropped calls. Some people state that they cannot even get a consistent signal within their homes. The hope is that this particular iPhone problem will be cleared up when users can switch from AT&T to Verizon which recently announced an upcoming iPhone service.

Although most people blame AT&T, some say that the iPhone dropped call issue lies in the design of the device and the antennae. Since it has not been specifically addressed by Apple, the assumption has been that the problem lies with AT&T. Time and a mass exodus expected from one carrier to another should reveal where the blame for this iPhone call quality issue should be placed. Related to the weak signal is the iPhone dropped calls issue. According to many users, they experience more dropped calls on iPhones than any phone they have ever owned. I just hope no one has been fired because they missed a call or because the iPhone kept dropping off during a conversation.

One of the iPhone problems that gets the most attention in the spring and fall is malfunctioning clocks. Daylight Savings Time wreaks havoc with the iPhone. Most of the complaints are that once the clock automatically changes to the correct time, it later reverts to the wrong time. Many people set their alarm clocks on the iPhone only for the time to change and cause the alarm to malfunction.

The iPhone Daylight Savings bug is the most inconvenient and damaging of the iPhone problems causing many people to take out their old alarm clocks instead of counting on their phones. There are even stories going around the internet that a few people have been fired as they were late to work because their iPhone’s alarm clock malfunctioned.

iPhone 3G iOS Slow – Should You Really Upgrade to iOS4?

Many iPhone 3G problems were reported with the upgrade to iOS4 from iOS3. The iOS upgrade available from Apple to convert the iOS3 phone to the new iOS4 phone worked great, but it really slowed down the phone. Most apps were reported as running much slower than normal and various technical glitches were encountered once the upgrade was installed. It really affected the speed of the device and made text messaging a chore because the response times of the keyboard dwindled to super slow speeds.

Apple has made many modifications to try and solve the issues, but it is still not nearly as fast as iOS3. Once people heard of other users experiences, many opted not to upgrade to iOS4. The only issue without upgrading is that a lot of new apps require iOS4.  I know I could have easily been fired because of this issue since I almost threw the phone across the room several times out of frustration.  The speed of this phone sometime is just so annoyingly slow that it gives me a headache.

iPhone 3G Battery Life Sucks?

Another common iPhone problem reported concerns battery life. However, most people realize that the phone’s battery usually just suffers from over-use due to extensive internet activity and use of apps, not that the battery is faulty. If you learn to turn off the wireless and Bluetooth signals, the phone will last much longer and it’s really not an issue. However, with both of them on your battery life is going to be rather lame. Since your phone is going to be dead half the time, you could get fired for not having your phone on and the sad part is that you might not even know it as you boss you won’t be able to reach you!
